One main cause is DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) regeneration. The DPF traps the soot generated by your diesel engine (hence no black clouds out of your exhaust). What happens in the Subaru EURO5 diesels is some diesel is injected on the exhaust stroke. Ignition OFF, connect the harness connector at the B154 Diesel Particulate Filter Pressure Sensor. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool DPF differential pressure sensor voltage parameter is between 0.45-0.55 V. ⇒. If not within the specified range, replace the B154 Diesel Particulate Filter Pressure Sensor. When that happens it goes straight to a flashing DPF light. So the unsuspecting owner like me opens the manual and gets told to go and see their dealer and expecting it to be something serious. I think it is VERY poor to have this dual use of the DPF light made even worse by no mention of it in the owners manual. 939 posts · Joined 2019. #14 · Mar 6, 2023. The oil dilution is just a record of how much fuel has gone into the oil. It is only a calculation, but it is very accurate. Its purpose it to warn the driver of the oil level increase because of failure of the DPF system regeneration repeatedly occuring. Notice the light under the DPF light looks like a squiggly ‘W’. Wait for all the lights to go off as normal then you are left with the regular lights and a flashing DPF light. Wait about 5 seconds and then pump the accelerator 10 times. Now that squiggly ‘W’ comes on then goes off. .
