In case it ever breaks, you can just swap the hard drive or deal with the HDD manufacturer's warranty. I, myself, don't trust the Xbox One hard drive -- what with it being not intended for the user to replace internally (without voiding the warranty). It is also the 500GB model, so my storage was filling up fast.
The replacement hard drive will need to be a 1 TB and it will HAVE to be formatted to FAT32 or just one of the FAT formats. If what ive detailed seems too much, there should be places that can offer the service. Where I work we charged $99 for the X, but they may range from $99 to $129ish. I hope this helps.

Replace Xbox One X 1TB HDD w/ 4TB SSD. I am planning on swapping out my 1TB HDD with a 4TB SSD for both faster load times as well as increase my internal storage. I read online that it is best to only replace with a storage capacity that was shipped with a version of the Xbox One (500GB, 1TB and 2TB only) or else you may run into issues either
Report abuse. The drive is not accessible by your computer because it is formatted in a proprietary format that is not readable by the computer. That is why an external drive has to be formatted by the console before it can be used for games and apps. It is highly unlikely at this point you will find anyone that can or will get the console
Xbox One disc drive repairWe fix an Xbox One that won't read a game disc. We can fix yours:
Using your fingers, gently unplug the two sets of wires connecting the drive to the motherboard. Alternatively, you can disconnect the wires from the drive-side sockets. This is much easier if you have not removed the power supply. The BD drive should now be completely detached from the rest of the device, and it can be set aside.
Follow this guide to remove the hard drive from your Xbox One, and follow it in reverse to install a new drive. Your Xbox One console is not capable of formatting a replacement hard drive for use as the main drive. Before you install your replacement drive, you will need to reformat the drive in a computer and install the necessary software
